Pasteurization
Olympic Medical strongly recommends the following Maintenance on their Pasteurmatic:
The Olympic Pasteurmatic should be maintained on a regular basis to provide years of trouble-free performance. Cleaning and operating personnel can perform weekly cleaning and monthly maintenance.
Weekly Maintenance
- Cleaning the Tank: It is important to clean the Pasteurmatic tank carefully and regularly to prevent corrosion. The tank, as well as other parts that are in contact with water or moisture, are made of high-grade stainless steel that does not rust under normal conditions if properly maintained.
- Cleaning the Drain Screen.
- Checking the pasteurizing water temperature: Ensure that the pasteurizing water temperature is at set point ±2oF (±1oC), as measured by a thermometer at the center of the tank.
Monthly Maintenance
- Lubricating the Hoist Slides: The hoist requires light lubrication.
Semi-annual and annual maintenance procedures can help ensure that your Pasteurmatic continues to perform optimally. Qualified technicians should perform these maintenance tasks.
Semi-Annual Maintenance
- Inspecting the Rotate Chain for damage.
- Inspecting the Hoses and Fittings for leaks.
- Cleaning and lubricating the Lead Screw and Slide Raceways. If the hoist is noisy or does not operate, also lubricate the lead screw, and clean and lubricate the slide raceways.
- Inspecting and adjusting the Hoist Limit Switches.
Annual Maintenance
- Performing the preventative maintenance overhaul (PMO) each year. The PMO has been designed on the basis of over 20 years of experience throughout the U.S. and Canada, and is required to keep your extended warranty in effect. As this maintenance should be performed by qualified technicians, service is executed on-site by a Novatech Medical technician that has been trained and certified by the manufacturer. Each PMO includes a thorough inspection, adjustment, and test of the product as well as replacement of operating components.
PMO includes:
Pump System: Rebuild pump, replacing seals, gaskets and rollers.
Water Level Control: Replace control. Check function.
Hoist Mechanism: Completely cleaned and re-lubricated. Lead screw drive nut and lid lift roller replaced.
Electrical: Switches, indicator lights, heaters, and wiring inspected.
Temperature Controls: Check and adjust Primary, Upper and Lower Limit Thermostats. Ensure correct calibration. |
Rotate System: Chain tension adjusted. Any mineral build-up cleaned. Rotate bearings, drive sprockets and fasteners inspected. Motor seal replaced.
Limit Controls: Upper and lower limit switches checked and adjusted. Lid over travel and cam alignment checked and adjusted.
Filter Screens: Replace drain screen and in-line filter.
Timer function: Tested.
